CTF-defenders was an attempt to force players to work as teams. It failed.

I hoped that by designateing one team member for an unpopular defensive position, I would force players to agree who should fill this role. If none agreed, the base would be left almost defenceless and the team would lose. In addition, I designed the defenders platform so that through the defenders can easily be sniped, it is extremially difficult to kill one from a position where it is possible to get the flag before the defender can get back into position. The only way to easily capture with a defender in position is to have two players cooperateing, one to kill the defender and one to get the flag.

It failed however. Very few players are able to work together for the length of time required to maintain a successful defence and offence. Quite quickly, the defender becomes bored of staying in one spot and leaves to attack. The offenders then no longer need to work in pairs. It was a nice attempt through.
